Checking a FOV for SDSS Stars

 

Log onto the SDSS skyserver webpage at URL...

http://skyserver.sdss3.org/public/en/tools/chart/navi.aspx

 

There are two ways to search... by object name or coordinates.

With the object name, enter the object into the name field and click the resolve button. The software will fill in the RA and DEC. Then click the search button.

If you have the coordinates, enter them in degrees and click the search button.


 

  If the object is not covered by the SDSS footprint, you will get the message shown below.
